Michelle Tunno Buelow is the founder of Bella Tunno, the purpose-driven baby brand on a mission to end childhood hunger.

Michelle launched Bella Tunno as a passion project in 2005, so she could start a charitable fund to help vulnerable children. For every product sold, Bella Tunno donates at least one meal to a hungry child. To date, the company has donated more than 10 million meals to children in need. The brand’s personality-filled teething, soothing, playtime, bathtime, and mealtime accessories for children are sold by several major retailers, including Target and Nordstrom, as well as more than 3,000 independent boutiques throughout the U.S.

Michelle serves on several philanthropic boards and volunteers with various local
organizations. She champions several causes including ending childhood hunger, drug and alcohol rehabilitation efforts, and helping vulnerable women and children. Michelle sits on the board of Fashion & Compassion, an organization committed to transforming the lives of women in destructive situations in 7 countries and is deeply committed to Education Equals Hope, an organization that exists to provide for the education of those living in desperate and difficult situations. She has traveled to multiple countries in Africa and South America with these organizations to witness the impact firsthand.

Michelle was named one of Inc’s 100 Female Founders and Forbes Next 1000. She was also recognized as one of EY’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women, one of Charlotte’s Top 25 Women in Business and was recently inducted into the North Carolina Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame. She was named a Vital Voices Global Ambassador, was a founding member of Kindred, is a member of Chief, and was a finalist for EY’s Carolina Entrepreneur of the Year. Bella Tunno made the Inc. 5000 list and was named the 8th fastest growing company in Charlotte.

Michelle grew up in western Pennsylvania and attended Pennsylvania State University. She currently lives in Charlotte with her husband and their two teenage daughters.
